UPDATE: Monday, September 3rd, 2007

As you may have noticed, ~DA-Orphanage has been running rather slowly for the past few months. This is mainly due to a staff shortage (1 member left)... While the "volunteer system" that we had used in the past sounded like a good idea, it actually created more work for us, keeping up with your activity, not to mention it was also a potential security risk.

Hoping to increase efficiency here at ~DA-Orphanage, I have made a few changes to our system:

DA-Orphanage has moved to Gmail. Our new E-mail address is dA.Orphanage@Gmail.com.

Any requests for adoptions or donations should be sent to dA.Orphanage@Gmail.com. Notes will still be accepted, but may take longer to be answered.

ONLY USERNAMES LISTED IN THE "AVAILABLE USERNAMES" SECTION OF OUR JOURNAL ARE AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTOIN. We can NOT "hack" passwords from existing usernames. We can only supply usernames that have been willingly donated by other users. ALL REQUESTS FOR NON-LISTED USERNAMES WILL BE IGNORED. I will promise to keep the lists updated if you promise to check them before you make a request.

When sending a request, PLEASE inclue the word "donation," "adoption," or "trade" (whichever applies) in the subject. All Mail is sorted automatically, and UNTITLED OR IMPROPERLY TITLED MESSAGSE WILL BE DISCARDED.

When sending an Adoption request, please include Links or URLs to the following:
-- Your existing deviantART page. (if applicable)
-- The page of the username you wish to adopt.
-- Your preferred E-mail address.

When sending a Donation request, please include Links or URLs to the following:
-- Your currently active deviantART page. (if applicable)
-- The page of the username you wish to donate.
-- Your preferred E-mail address.
** Please be sure to include the password of the username you wish to donate.

When sending a Trade request, please include Links or URLs to the following:
-- Your currently active deviantART page. (if applicable)
-- The page of the username you wish to donate.
-- The page of the username you wish to adopt.
-- Your preferred E-mail address.
** Please be sure to include the password of the username you wish to donate.

There is also a new process for avatars. There is a section near the bottom of our journal which lists all of the people who have donated or adopted, or who are watching and/or advertising for ~DA-Orphanage. From now on, I will only add your avatar if you specifically request to be added in the e-mail containing your adoption/donation request.

If you watch, or advertise for ~DA-Orphanage, and want to have your username displayed in our journal, please send an e-mail entitled "Avatar Listing" to dA.Orphanage@Gmail.com


Finally, PLEASE, DO NOT SEND US LONG LISTS OF DEAD ACCOUNTS UNLESS YOU HAVE THE PASSWORD TO EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. WE CAN NOT RECOVER PASSWORDS FROM DEAD ACCOUNTS; THEY HAVE TO BE DONATED. This is probably the most common misunderstanding that we come across.

Please, everybody follow these rules, and I will be able to answer your requests much faster and more effectively.

Currently, the list of available accounts is not up to date at all. There are several accounts that have been donated that I have not gotten around to clearing out and adding, however, I have been able to meet most of your adoption requests. Now Please, make sure you can handle the extra username, especially if it's a club account, before you adopt it. I have seen too many good names go to waste. (You can always re-donate accounts if you change your mind.)

In the future, we just might find a way to incorporate the "volunteer system" again. It would also be great if we could get someone to design a stamp, or maybe even a new avatar for the Orphanage as well. If everything goes well, who knows, we may even offer a few contests... Yes, real contests, with prizes!
